Sketch Saturday #148

Well I have followed the layout on this weeks "Sketch Saturday Challenge" for this card. I have a few friends turning 30 over the next few months, so thought I'd get started on their cards. I've not decided yet who this card is for so have not added their name to it yet, but know they very rarely visit my blog so I'm ok on that score lol!

Attention To Detail:

The image is "Vivienne" by Kraftin Kimmie, whenever I hear the name Vivienne I think of Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman lol. ...Anyway she was coloured with my promarkers: Crimson red, shale, walnut, cocoa, cinnamon, dusky pink, blush, satin, cool grey 3,4 ,5 and Black. I followed a fab tutorial by the talented "Coops" on colouring her hair and I'm pleased with the results, it's so much easier doing the shade first then the light first like I used too.

The red DP is by Basic Grey from the Sultry range and the black is by Bo Bunny. The gems and glitter are from my stash. The fantastic sentiment is from "Paper Makeup Stamps".

I'm also entering this card into the following challenges:

Allsorts Week #96 - For A Special Lady.
Craft Your Days Away Challenge - #16 For Mum or Special Lady.
Crafty Cardmakers Challenge - #42 Special Birthdays.

Game On

I have made this card for my Eldest Nephew Cieran who is 15 today. He is x box, PlayStation, Ds mad!. Opted for a monochrome colour scheme with minimal embellishments.

The stamped image is called "Game On" by Mo Manning for Stamping Bella and was coloured with promarkers: Satin, Cool Grey 1-5 and Black.

I'm not entirely sure who the DP belongs too, the embossed panel was made with my argyle embossing folder and cuttlebug. The sentiment was made with my alphabet stamps.

Cieran has his first day of work experience today in a local pharmacy, he wants to become a Dr when he leaves school but work experience in the local GP surgery was a no go zone.

Bah Humbug

Well I sometimes question how my mind works, all this glorious weather and I am inspired to make a "Christmas Card" lol. Well truth be told I was inspired by the new "Bah Humbug challenge - Trees". I have used my "Penny Black - Home For Christmas 3990K" stamp.

I inked the stamp with my "Perfect Plumeria" Versa Magic ink pad and then heat embossed it with some crystal embossing powder for a subtle sparkle. I then added some gems and magenta sparkles to the baubles on the tree.

I dry embossed one panel on the card with my snowflakes embossing folder (rather than use a design paper) and added the gorgeous ribbon from the "Ribbon Girl" and silver Christmas Tree charm. Well it makes a change for me not to have used any promarkers on this card lol.

I'm off  to straighten up the wonky left hand edge it is bugging me lol.

Sketch Saturday #147

Well I have made this card for my Aunty whose birthday is on Friday, I have used the layout from this weeks "Sketch Saturday" challenge. The image was sent to me in a recent stamped image swap .

The image is "Tilda with a balloon" from the "Magnolia You're So Special Range" and she was coloured with my promarkers - apple, meadow green, maroon, caramel, cinnamon, satin, blush and dusky pink.

The sentiments are one stamp cut in two, the stamp is by "Penny Black - Wrap a Hug 3459D". The flowers are by "Prima" and the gems are from my "Anita's Gem Wheel". The design papers are from the "Prima - Botanical" range and the card from Papermill.

A Wish For A Friend...

 Wishing you a rainbow
For sunlight after showers—
Miles and miles of Irish smiles
For golden happy hours—
Shamrocks at your doorway
For luck and laughter too,
And a host of friends that never ends
Each day your whole life through!

I know it's not "St Patricks Day" until tomorrow but I know I will be too busy to post anything. We are providing a special menu at school, we have Irish Stew with home baked Soda Bread, Beef in Guinness Pie with Colcannon  and Baileys Cheescake for dessert....Yummy!

Anyway onto my card!

I wanted to enter this card into the Allsorts - Luck O The Irish challenge, so I have cheated slightly and used "Tilda with gingerbread", only I have coloured her gingerbread green to look like shamrocks lol. She has been coloured with my promarkers: Apricot, Honeycombe, Pumpkin, Grass, Emerald, caramel, cinnamon, satin, blush and Dusky Pink.

The design papers are both "My Minds Eye" and the ribbon and flowers are from my stash. I don't have any suitable stamps for the front of the card, but have printed the Irish Prayer For A Friend (top of post) inside.
I'm also entering this card into "Creative Card Crew - Something Green" challenge.

...Mellow Yellow...

Over on the Mad About Cards Forum we are having and Easter Card Swap/Circle. As I have about 7 cards to make in total I have chosen 3 stamps and I am going to choose 3 layouts and make several of each in varying colours lol. This is the first design I came up with, I'm still unsure (but thinking that's because of the really bold yellow). I have also made a matching ATC as a little extra.

Attention To Detail:

The image is called "Tilda With Flower In her Hair" and is from the "Magnolia Hoppy Easter 2010" collection. She has been coloured with promarkers: Buttercup, Tulip, Sunflower Yellow, Ivory, Satin, Blush, Dusky Pink, Pastel Pink, Apricot, Cool Grey 1-5 and Black. I added 2 little gem buckles to her shoes and highlighted certain areas with my white gel pen.

The design paper is from "Craft Creations" and the yellow organza ribbon has been recycled from a gift set from "Lush". I used my circle and scalloped circle nesties and my roses embossing folder. The sentiment stamp is from "Lili Of The Valley". The flowers are from "Prima" and I added yellow stickles to the centre.

Friends Are...

"Friends are angels who lift us to our feet, when our wings have trouble remembering how to fly"

This card has been made for the March swap over at "Scrappers Delight", the theme this month is to make a card containing your favourite sentiment or quotation.

Attention to Detail:

The sentiment is a stamp by "Paper Makeup" stamps available at Quixotic Paperie. I stamped it onto a tag shape to tuck behind the main image to create the element of surprise. The gorgeous Teal ribbon is from "Ribbon Girl".

I used my "Flying Tilda" stamp from the Magnolia Fairytale Collection. She has been coloured with promarkers: Powder Blue, Blue Pearl, Cornflour Blue, Caramel, Cinnamon, Cocoa, Satin, Blush, Dusky pink and Cool Grey 1. I used my clear stardust pen to her wings and wan and added a flourish of gems for extra sparkle.

The design papers I have used are by Prima from their "Botanical Collection" range, they are gorgeous :) and the heart pendant charm is also from the Ribbon Girl. I have kept the embellishments light as the card is being posted to the USA.

It's been a while since I entered any challenges so i'm going to enter Simon Says Stamp - Anything goes and Crafty Creation # 109 Baby Blue.

A Labour of Love

Boy has this card been a struggle to make! I'm not fishing for compliments but I'm really struggling lately with my cards, I know I haven't fallen out with card making ...BUT... I have no mojo or enthusiasm lol. We've had some family stuff going on recently so maybe that's just rubbed off on me!

Anyway...I started off following this weeks Sketch Saturday challenge layout for this card. The image was sent to me as part of a stamped image swap and I have used scraps of paper too.

Attention To Detail:

The image is called "Tilda with Peony" from the Magnolia stamps and she has been coloured with my promarkers: Satin, Blush, Dusky Pink, Lilac, Lavender, Amethyst, Aubergine, caramel, cinnamon, pear green and cocoa. I have added to little purple gem buckles to her shoes and added highlights with my white gel pen.

The calendar stamp is from "Lili Of The Valley" and was cut using my scalloped nesties. The design papers are basic grey and from the "Kioshi" range. They were a bit tattered and slightly ripped in some places, so I have distressed all edges to match. I used my Dahlia flower die to make the large flower and the smaller flowers are prima.

Thanks for looking.

Happy Birthday M8t...Hope it's gr8t

Well my Nephew Eughan( pronounced Ew-an) is 8 on Saturday, so I have been busy making his birthday card.  I decided to try a "pop out" effect with this one.
Attention To Detail:

The image is "Skater Ian" from the Greeting Farm, coloured with promarkers: Orange, Bright Orange, midnight blue, walnut, burnt sienna, satin, blush, dusky pink and cool grey 1. I cut the image out and attached it to a strip of acetate with ds tape. I looped the acetate over and tucked it behind the star to create the pop out effect.

I drew the star by hand as I did not want a perfect die cut shape on this occasion. I edged the star with orange peel stickles, I used alphabet stickers to spell out his name and again covered them in Orange peel stickles. I also found a metal "birthday" button and added that to the card.

The design paper is by "Basic Grey" and the card is from the "Paper Mill Shop".

Every time you ask Eughan what he would like for his birthday he changes his mind, so I am putting money in his card so he can choose his own present....simples!
