The Last Thing You Wanted To See LOL :)

Well good afternoon everybody,

I'm sorry I've not posted on my blog for an absolute age, I had planned to have a blogging break over the Christmas Holidays to spend time with loved ones but un beknowns to me and Leon we would both come down with Flu and a really nasty chest infection a piece on Christmas Eve. We've both been in bed for a week, had no Christmas dinner and only just opened presents yesterday. We've both had the emergency doctor out and are on penicillin so a quiet New Year for us lol.

Anyway enough waffle, I was inspired to make a card this afternoon whilst watching Bedknobs and Broomsticks...unfortunately for you it is in fact a dreaded Christmas Card.  I've used this gorgeous Saturated Canary stamp and coloured her with my promarkers: satin, blush, sunkissed pink, tan, caramel, cool grey 1,2,3, black, henna, burnt sienna, umber, forest green, olive green, gold, crimson and burgundy.

I've highlighted her with my white gel pen and my clear stardust pen.  The papers are called "Frankincense - Kaisercraft Twig & Berry Collection". The sentiment stamp is Lili of the Valley and the jute twine, mesh and flowers are all from the Ribbon Girl.

I have decorated the inside of the card with matching papers and have made a tissue lined box. I am determined that 2013 I will make at least one Christmas card per fortnight and not  be left rushing them out at the last minute and hating them like I was this year...nearly contemplated buying some SHOCK!

Anyway hope you are all well and have a good start to the new year.

Thanks for looking.

Eclectic Ellapu challenge # 10 - Anything Goes

Good Morning,
Whooo Hoooo school closed on Friday and I have 3 weeks holiday :) . Also today is the day for the new challenge over at Eclectic Ellapu and this week it's a special challenge as it will run for 3 weeks and the theme is  Challenge # 10 - ANYTHING GOES and both the Pink and Purple teams are participating in this one so lots of gorgeous talent and inspirational projects on display.  .

I wold like to share this Ruby Wedding card I was asked to make. I did not use any stamps on this card, just made use of die cuts and embossing folders.

The poem was taken from a free website and printed in ruby ink to match the card used for matting and layering.  The sentiment was also computer generated. I added white liquid pearls to the oustide edge of the card and a touch of silver pearl to the red heart.

I use an old Cuttlebug die to create the hearts, wanting them to depict the "Bride and Groom". I embossed and glittered the white heart.
Simple but effective.

Be sure to check out the fabulous work from my fellow Eclectics and why not enter your own project.

Sorry

I have been a SHOCKING blogger these last few weeks. What with Leon being poorly (but now on the mend) and work being manic i've simply not had time to craft or post anything. BUT school closes for Christmas on friday so I'm hoping to catch up with you all soon. Thank you to those of you who have stuck with me, will try and catch up with your own blogs soon.

Santa Paws - Eclectic Ellapu challenge #8

Good Morning everybody,

Here we are with challenge 8 over at Eclectic Ellapu and this weeks theme is "Santa Paws and Snowflakes" chosen by the lovely Jacki and it's the turn of the Purple Team :). We want to see your Christmas cuties of the four legged variety. I have chosen my "Tatty Ted" stamp to make this gift set consisting of : card, bottle cuff and vanilla scented candle.

Card:

This was made using scraps of design papers and scraps of card. The sentiment is a Penny Black Stamp which I just adore. The snowflakes were made with a Marianne Creatables die and the embossing made with my swiss dots and snowflake embossing folders. The buttons from my stash.

Bottle Cuff:

Made with an off cut of card, used a circle nestie to create the aperture. Decorated with matching papers to the card and stickles for a little Christmas sparkle.

Candle:

Snowflake buttons are from my stash and the gorgeous ribbon was given to me in a swap. The teddy was stickled before heat sealing him into the candle.

Well thanks for visiting my blog, why not pop over to Eclectic Ellapu and check out my fantastic teamies creations, and take on the challenge yourself  :) .
